Content of the event
Applying for and securing funding for local authority investments is a rocky road. It is therefore all the more gratifying when the funding is finally granted.
However, problems and risks also arise when it comes to „retaining“ the funding: a key part of the audit of the statement of expenditure is checking that contracts have been awarded in accordance with the rules. This involves, for example, the commissioning of architects and specialist planners, or the awarding of construction contracts for the new nursery, school or road. If the funding body identifies any breaches of procurement rules, the funding may be partially or even completely withdrawn, depending on the severity of the breach.
The aim of the seminar is to explain to participants the specific aspects of public procurement law relating to funded projects, and to highlight typical mistakes and ways of avoiding them.
The seminar will also discuss the conditions under which grant funding may be withdrawn. The online seminar will be rounded off with an explanation of the legal remedies available and how to deal appropriately with the funding body.
