Public contracts in Brandenburg are to be awarded more quickly and with less bureaucracy in future. This is the aim of a move by the state government in Brandenburg to reduce bureaucracy: Local authorities are to be able to award construction, supply and service contracts up to an estimated contract value of 100,000 euros excluding (VAT) without a tender. Previously, the exemption limit was 1,000 euros. „A nationwide trend that now seems to have arrived in Brandenburg,“ says Rechtsanwalt Janko Geßner. In the opinion of Rechtsanwalt Philipp Buslowicz, this represents an effective simplification of procurement for companies in the sub-threshold area. Compared to some other federal states, the previous limit was rather symbolic and had no practical relevance.
