The student participants demonstrated their specialist knowledge and negotiating skills at the pre-moot of the ELSA Germany Administrative Law Moot Court (EDVMC) on 16 October 2025 in the offices of DOMBERT Rechtsanwälte. Once again, the law firm, together with ELSA-Deutschland e.V., gave the students the opportunity to practise their pleadings and get tips and tricks from the practitioners before they go to the national decision at the Higher Administrative Court of Berlin-Brandenburg on 28 November 2025.
At the pre-moot, a total of six teams, each comprising two students from the universities of Bonn, Passau, Munich, Frankfurt am Main and Mainz, heard a case from the firm's practice before the fictitious court. Ulf Domgörgen, former Federal Administrative Court judge and Of Counsel, presided on the bench. He was assisted by Julica Köhn, lawyer, and Rechtsanwalt Michael Lieberum. ELSA groups from Berlin and Potsdam as well as research assistants and employees of the law firm were also present as spectators. „For most of the teams, it was their first experience of speaking freely in front of so many people from a lawyer's perspective,“ said lawyer Judith Affeldt, who was responsible for organising the pre-moot. After the exciting negotiation rounds, the successful day ended with a pizza dinner together.
