The largest agri-photovoltaic plant in Europe is to be built in Brandenburg. The planned „Klimapark Steinhöfel“ will cover an area of 500 hectares and eight villages and will have an output of 753 megawatts. The plant is scheduled to go into operation in 2026. The planned transformer station should also be completed by then. DOMBERT Rechtsanwälte is advising the Odervorland authority and the municipalities in connection with this major project.
Under the photovoltaic systems, the land will continue to be used for cultivation and livestock farming. Modern technologies for light and rainwater management will also be used to improve the cultivation of the sandy and difficult soils in Brandenburg. The project is being organised by the company Sunfarming in Erkner near Berlin, which already operates and builds several agri-photovoltaic systems.
