DOMBERT Rechtsanwälte advised the German Rectors„ Conference on the internationalisation of German universities. The BMBF-funded “HRK Advance" project focuses on the legal and organisational framework conditions at universities and the design of international cooperation. The team led by partner Prof. Dr Klaus Herrmann has evaluated the higher education legislation in 16 federal states since 2021 and identified the current legal situation as well as potential improvements for the internationalisation of universities. These recommendations formed the basis for discussions in working groups of experts from the field, who developed guidelines for three areas: These are recommendations for the legal and organisational framework conditions of foreign and multilingual study programmes, for improved framework conditions for the participation of international students in virtual study components and for the structural anchoring of teacher mobility in international collaborations.
