The construction turbo - the „Act to accelerate the construction and refurbishment of residential property

With the „Act to Accelerate Housing Construction and Secure Housing“, commonly referred to as the "construction turbo", the legislator has created an instrument that can be used to promote housing construction in Germany. The Bau-Turbo allows far-reaching deviations from the requirements of the Building Code. However, municipal planning sovereignty is always at the centre of this: it is not possible without the consent of the cities and municipalities. They will therefore ultimately decide whether the turbo ignites or fizzles out.
