Content of the event

Everyone is talking about speeding up authorisation procedures for infrastructure projects, renewable energy plants, large-scale technical facilities and other projects. However, such procedures are usually very complex; the technical and, in particular, environmental challenges for legally secure decisions are demanding. The use of external project managers is a possible instrument for speeding up procedures and overcoming the shortage of specialised staff at approval authorities. While support from third parties has been practised for many years in urban land-use planning procedures, for example, the use of project managers in official authorisation procedures has become increasingly important, particularly in recent times. Prominent examples are environmental planning and authorisation procedures such as LNG and grid expansion projects.

In the webinar, you will learn when it makes sense to use a project manager and which tasks (can) be assigned to them. The „distribution of roles“ between the approval authority, project manager and project sponsor will be discussed. We will also look at the steps required for commissioning, in particular the awarding of contracts, and the main features of the contractual structure.
