Germany is lagging behind with the implementation of an EU directive (RED III), which is intended to facilitate the expansion of renewable energies. The German government is now under pressure as the temporary acceleration regulations have expired. They were enacted to secure the country's energy supply due to the war in Ukraine. The federal legislator now wants to permanently anchor facilitations for the authorisation of wind turbines in so-called „acceleration areas“ in German law.
