The reformed disciplinary law for federal civil servants has been in force since 1 April 2024. Instead of having to take lengthy disciplinary action in court, all disciplinary measures against federal civil servants are now imposed by the authorities themselves. This now also includes demotion, removal from civil servant status and withdrawal of pension. In addition, a conviction for incitement to hatred now automatically leads to the loss of civil servant rights in the event of a prison sentence of six months or more.
