The Zwickau city council had decided to ban advertising for the German Armed Forces, but had to withdraw this under pressure from the municipal supervisory authority. Specialist lawyer Dr Dominik Lück explains that such decisions are a matter for federal policy and therefore do not fall within the remit of a local authority such as Zwickau.
