Content of the event
Cultural assets are far more than „just“ another consideration in planning and authorisation procedures: Architectural and ground monuments tell history, characterise places and can also present projects with complex legal and practical challenges. In times of billions in special funds for infrastructure development, these conflicts are becoming even more important - especially where projects in the overriding public interest come up against the protection of architectural and archaeological monuments, historic cultural landscapes or other cultural assets worthy of protection.
Our seminar focuses on the interface between law and practice: Using current examples, it provides an overview of the (monument) legal requirements that must be observed in the course of planning approval for infrastructure projects, regional and urban land-use planning as well as during project approval on site. With an experienced view from legal and technical practice, we also show where typical lines of conflict arise and how viable solutions can be developed in the interaction between project developers, heritage authorities and heritage experts.
