The procurement of artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming increasingly important for public sector clients. AI applications offer a wide range of opportunities to increase efficiency and modernise administration. At the same time, they present contracting authorities with new legal and practical challenges.
The European AI Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 („AI Act“) and the planned national implementing legislation are creating a new regulatory framework that will also have a significant impact on public procurement. In future, public contracting authorities will be increasingly required to take aspects such as risk assessment, transparency requirements and legal responsibilities into account at an early stage. Against this backdrop, we are offering a seminar that presents the key legal and public procurement framework for AI procurement in a clear and practical manner. The seminar is aimed specifically at public contracting authorities, particularly local authorities, and combines in-depth legal knowledge with concrete recommendations for day-to-day procurement practice.
The brains behind the event.
is a specialised lawyer for administrative law and founding partner of DOMBERT Rechtsanwälte. He heads the practice group „Public Contracts and Procurement”. He also lectures on public procurement law at the Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) Cottbus-Senftenberg.
He is a partner at Rechtsanwalt and a specialist lawyer in public procurement law, and has been working at DOMBERT Rechtsanwälte since 2020. His practice focuses on public commercial law and public procurement law.
He primarily advises the public sector on the organisation of complex procurement processes.
